  • HAIR & MAKEUP NOTES FROM MS. AMANDA:

All students will NEED to purchase the following items on their own:

-Foundation that matches students’ skin tone

-Powder (‘setting powder’ is helpful! ELF brand has a good one)

-Black eyeliner (liquid or pencil is fine)

    -Bronzer (non-shimmer)

-Makeup brushes (eye shadow, foundation/powder, blush. etc.)

-Hair ties that match the students hair (aka No black ponytail holders for blondes, etc.)

-Bobby Pins (same coloring as above)

-Hairspray (I recommend Garnier Fructis Full Control, green bottle)

***Students should NOT wash their hair within 24 hours of a competition day. Slightly dirty hair is easier to style/holds better (feel free to use dry shampoo if they tend to have greasy hair!). Freshly washed hair WILL NOT HOLD. Student’s should plan to do the same before this workshop to better test the hairstyle!***

    Recommend items (not required):

-Primer (ELF brand has good ones!)

-Moisturizer (if they have dryer skin)

-Concealer a shade lighter than their skin for under-eye

-Brow powder (for blondes especially! Maybelline Brow Define and Fill Duo is the BEST! Comes in several shades)

-Make up setting spray (NYX has an inexpensive one, Urban Decay is $$ but AMAZING).

-Dry Shampoo (for those who get greasy hair quickly. Batiste is a solid, inexpensive brand. Kloraine is about $20 but fantastic!)
