Description
Often times, young dancers find themselves unsure of what style they are interested in pursuing! Our Jazz/Contemporary Fusion classes offer a combination of both techniques in one class to expose you to both styles! Classic Jazz technique and Contemporary Improvisation techniques are taught side-by-side, giving you a strong foundation in both styles and eventually-the ability to decide to pursue one or the other…or both!
In this Beginner-level class for students between the ages of 7 and 9, you will learn:
-Contemporary fundamentals: floor work, contract and release, basic technique (plie, tendus, Port de bras, etc.), improvisation exercises/interpretive movement, musicality, and emotional connection.
-Jazz Fundamentals: Musicality and rhythm, Isolations, Plie/Grounded center, Port de Bras, Battments (kicks), Turns and spotting (pirouettes, chaine turns, etc.), Leaps, and more.
