This class is designed for our short sessions (Summer Kickoff and Holiday sessions), and can be taken along with the “Part A- The Art of the Open Break” class, or by itself. Taken together, these two classes cover the core of the Salsa-Beginner II syllabus.
This half of the Beginner II syllabus focuses on the crossbody lead with turns and basic turn variations. In this class you will learn the fundamental of spotting, collection, and turning on the balls of your feet, as well as finding your balance during turns. We will also cover proper arm placement to best facilitate lead and follow of various turns. Remember, the crossbody lead with a turn is the most commonly used move in salsa. Don’t fake it, Master it!
Prerequisites: Salsa Beginner I
Dance Partner: A dance partner is not required for this class, as students will rotate partners throughout the class. However, if you and your partner come to class together and prefer not to switch, then simply inform the instructor of your preference.
